Loads of people flocked to downtown Jamestown to see over 75 acts play, plus we didn't get rained on! Thanks to everybody who came to my shows at Forte (solo) and at Mojo's (with Midas). Both venues were extremely welcoming and it was lots of fun to play there. Also thanks to everyone who bought a CD, I appreciate it! Today at 6pm are the Chautauqua County Music Awards. The Chautauqua County Music Awards (CCMAs) have been held since the showcase moved to downtown Jamestown in 2006. The Chautauqua Region Word newspaper holds nominations on their site and then the top three nominees are voted upon by visitors to the website. The awards are at the Scharmann Theatre of Jamestown Community College. I was one of the top nominees for Best Local CD of 2008 and Best Singer/Songwriter, so I will find out at the awards show if I won those awards or not. Tickets to the show are not expensive, so if you can come please do! There will also be local band "mash-ups", where two bands combine their members and choose a song based on an agreed genre. This year Midas and Steve Johnson Band are combining to do Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic". Thanks to everybody who helped support Infinity and came out to the Local Music Showcase last night!
